  1. What is Color ICON Mania?
  2. ========================

Color ICON Mania is a small utility that adds colorful icons to your tedious alert box, such as "Note", "Caution", and "Stop".  You can choose your favorite alert icons from included samples. You can import someone else's icons, or create your owns if you have ResEdit or some resource editor that can edit 'cicn' resource.

  5. Color ICON Mania does not modify your System file. It patchs some Toolbox Traps on startup time, so your system file remains untouched. If you decide not to use Color ICON Mania, just put this file into Trash.

  7. Requirements
  8. =============
  9. Color ICON Mania can run any Macintosh that have Color QuickDraw. Using Color ICON Mania on the System prior to 7.0, the window cannot resize because of the Control Panels DA. Any other functions may be work properly.

  11. How to use it
  12. ============
  13. Put the file "Color ICON Mania" into System Folder (if you are using System 7.0 or later, put it inside Control Panels folder inside System Folder). Then restart your Macintosh. Startup icon can be seen if installed properly. Open "Color ICON Mania" inside Control Panels folder.

  15. • On / Off radio buttons
  16. Set Color ICON Mania active or inactive. This will take effect immediately.

  18. • Startup Icon check box
  19. Decide whether to display startup icon or not.

  21. • Icon list area
  22. Select your favorite icons from the list. This will take effect immediately.

  24. • Tray Out... button
  25. You can try the icons how it looks like on real alert box.

  27. • Import... button
  28. You can import another set of icons from a file.

  30. • Delete button
  31. Delete the selected icons from icon list.
